I've been in situations where I was been hovering between life and death due to my random encounters with the worst people (or gangs) on the streets...

Despite having defended myself and survived those risks, I thought that it would still be necessary to strengthen my weakness and empower my strength by means of self-defense training. I don't have anything with me during my walk at late night on risky streets or in unfortunate circumstances I would meet those gangs who are bigger, stronger, heavier, and equipped with weapons.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was developed from Kodokan judo ground fighting (newaza) fundamentals and eventually came to be its own defined combat sport through the innovations, practices, and adaptation of judo.
