Accepting God depends on us because He already accepted us before birth. Are we sincere when we're talking to Him through prayers?
I remember my public speaking class during my university days, where we had actual debate sessions on certain issues. During the battle, all our resources and exhibits were laid on our side, readily available to present if our arguments required proof of our position on the issue. We were just like lawyers in a court proceeding and in front of a judge.
Likewise, on one occasion, my former University,- the College of Engineering, invited us (a batch of new board passers in the year 2000) for our annual Alumni gatherings. We were asked to deliver a short speech in front of the undergraduates and in the presence of our former professors. I prepared a note outlining the important things I wanted to share to inspire those future engineers who will be taking a board examination as well.
It was the same scenario when I was invited to be a guest speaker at a graduation ceremony at my former Elementary School. I wrote my inspirational speech to direct my message to all the pupils moving to the next phase of their education, High School Life. I challenged the pupils and encouraged their proud parents to continue supporting their sons and daughters until their children's ambitions had been reached.
In our work, as we facilitate/present in a meeting where we would be presenting the details of our agenda pertaining to the outstanding status of various issues and concerns for resolutions, etc., we are obligated to prepare our presentation from actual in-depth know-how and experience so that we can clearly explain and resolve certain issues immediately.
Shall we believe that God understands us always as long as we do good deeds? Would it be better if we gave time to talk to God through prayer along with doing good deeds? Does God give us His most precious gift exclusively kept for us from His most valued virtual cabinet? Would it be pleasing to Him if we prayed with sincerity and self-preparedness during our private talk with Him?
A PRAYER
(Accepting God in Prayer)
Dear Almighty God,
I come to you with a Humble Heart.
Thank you for giving me the life that I have now.
Thank you for my job, my career,
my good health, for the daily protection,
and for all the provisions in life.
Thank you for my family,
my brothers and sisters,
the friends you have given me,
and other loved ones.
Almighty God, Thank you for making me
for what I am now.
The reasonable wealth that I have,
and for everything.
God, I know that despite what I have,
I am not qualified to enter into your Holy Place.
I admit that I am also a sinner,
a sinner from my birth,
I even have the sins inherent in me,
the Original Sins.
My Father, here are my sins
(in silence, confess to God your sins with a humble heart…)
MOST MERCIFUL GOD, FORGIVE ME OF ALL MY SINS,
CLEANSE ME FROM ALL MY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS,
ALMIGHTY FATHER, FORGIVE ME OF ALL MY SINS;
CLEANSE ME… CLEANSE ME...
COME INTO MY HEART RIGHT NOW;
COME INTO MY HEART RIGHT NOW;
I AM ACCEPTING YOU AS MY MOST HIGH GOD
AND PERSONAL SAVIOR.
DWELL IN MY HEART RIGHT NOW;
FROM NOW ON, FATHER,
I AM NOW YOUR CHILD
MAKE ME THE PERSON
YOU WANT ME TO BE.
THANK YOU FATHER,
FOR CLEANSING ME OF MY SINS.
I AM NOW YOUR CHILD, FATHER;
ALL THESE I PRAY
AMEN, AMEN, AND AMEN.
