The essence of staying in Korea is knowing the root, traditions and culture, of Koreans.
For short period, our head office has been located in Jongno District (Jongno-gu) located in central Seoul, South Korea. I heard that its name derived from a major local street (Jongno) which means "Bell Street". So, I had a chance to visit the "Changdeokgung Palace".
Changdeokgung (창덕궁) Palace or Changdeok Palace is located within a large park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It's a 10 minutes walk from Ankook Subway station (Line #3). The palace's buildings of Changdeokgung blend with the natural topography because it was built between Peak Maebong of Mt. Bugaksan in the back and River Geumcheon.
It's once in a life time experience to see the old architectural building features and imagining on how the Royal Family of Koreans lived behind the palace walls. So, if you're inside and you must stroll around in all the buildings and rooms and see those unique and beautiful Korean garden design.
I would recommend visiting this palace. It's open from 10am to 6pm. It would be worth it, a kid friendly destination. It's a lovely palace to walk around seeing a lot of things... a very well-preserved palace with beautiful gardens.
